comes from the Hebrew shalom which means peace.

  • History:
Salome, the Myrrh-bearing women was the wife of Zebedee and mother of Jacques and John, apostles of Jesus. She followed and served Jesus. She put her son forward.
On Easter Sunday, she found the empty tomb, she had brought spices to embalm the body.
The name was little used in the early twentieth century. it is from the 1980s that it became fashionable, in fact, 17 girls in 1980, 1136 in 2001 was the peak, 1006 in 2006.
